About
Unbound Threads is a slow fashion brand. Created with a passion for sustainable shopping…this brand is a collection of one of one, reworked pieces made entirely from thrifted clothing and textiles.
My mission: giving new life to garments that would have otherwise been destined for a landfill.
It is estimated that 92 million tons of textile waste end up in landfills each year. That was absolutely mind boggling to me, so I started this brand as a way to contribute even a small part to reducing that waste. Unbound Threads was built on a dream to do our part in this small corner of the world, creating a ripple of impact that has limitless potential to change the overconsumption of new clothing in a positive way.
When it comes to slow fashion, this is the real deal. Each and every piece is hand selected from thrift stores, donations, and last chance bins across the country. Then, after being thoroughly washed, they are cut and sewn together on my vintage Kenmore 158 and some even include hand embroidered or hand stitched details as well.
Unbound Threads is also a crossroads between the practical and the woo.
What does that mean? Each piece is cleansed with palo santo and Reiki-infused. First step, cleanse each garment of any energies lingering from past owners. Then, as an attuned Reiki practitioner, I infuse each piece with Reiki energy, intended to wrap their wearer in a warm hug of intention serving their highest good and expression each time they put it on.
Whether shopping for yourself, or a friend, you can guarantee you won’t find another piece exactly like it. Every garment is up-cycled, one of a kind, and stitched with so much love and intention, you can’t help but feel it when you darn the threads.
